Well no surprise chemo therapy has been really tough. I'm not sure what's the toughest part just it feels like it sucks out my excitement in some of the little things. My symptoms have been periodic headaches, my chest hurting (from the medi-port), and a lot of nausea. It seems like everything i eat i end up throwing up. This has not been easy since my appetite is most random at times. Hockey seems to be out of the question right now. Even if my surgeon would let me play i probably wouldnt have enough energy to play any ways.
Today i woke up very tired and not feeling good. I had to get a shot so we decided to take me back to the hospital and get my shot and other medicine. I was there for about 2 hours.
Unfortunately, no trick or treating tonight for me however I look forward to maybe handing out some candy and getting some more rest tonight.
Thank you all for your support during this time.
Happy Halloween!
-Tristan

Hey Spaghetti Pie,
I remember my dad going thru chemo when I was in high school, and I remember very vividly how he felt. I feel for ya bud! I know back then my dad was given marijuana pills to help with nausea. Back then you weren't to know which was the marijuana pill because it was kinda taboo then....Anyway...just keep telling yourself...one more week down. YOU WILL be playing hockey soon.
Ty was glad he could come by to see you, and he had a good time at the haunted house. Hope you get to enjoy some time with the Dorrells...
Hugs and Prayers,
Old Lady
Tristan,
Hang in there. A "care package" will be on its way soon from "Amish Country".
We love you.
Grandpa and Grandma Smith
Hey Tristan! I had no idea you were going through this, until just recently when I recieved an e-mail from your grandma. I just wanted you to know that you have the Bar Lazy J gang in your corner! You hang in there, if things get too tough just tell yourself you can do anything for an hour (that always helps me get to the next one). You are in my prayers and in the prayers of your ranch gang, miss you bud and before you know it you're gonna be ridding through the rockies with all of us! ~Your Favorite Wrangler~ Talya ;)
This, too, shall pass, Tristan. Just keep telling yourself that, sweetie. You'll have years of hockey ahead of you by taking care of this NOW. Hang in there.
Mindy and Kimmie will probably be checking in on you soon. When I told Mindy, she said, "Oh! I remember Tristan. He was my little buddy. He was so cute and cuddly and sat on my lap..." (But you were about 4 at the time! Do you remember visiting us? It was a long time ago...) I said, "Well, he wouldn't sit on your lap now -- he's almost 16." That made her feel really OLD! :D Wish we lived closer and could visit. Mindy would get you laughing. She's good at that.
I'm rambling.... Sorry. Just know that you are in our prayers, Tristan.
Love,
Cousin Deb
Hey Tristan,
Jean and I have been thinking a lot about you and hoping you are starting to feel somewhat better. I had my 2nd chemo on Halloween. My hair if falling out in massive amounts now, and even though I shaved it, it still is hard to see it fall out again.Oh well, it will grow back again. Eat whatever sounds good to you, no matter what it is. My 1st time around I only ate one item at a time, like a cucumber or a tomatoe. I craved foods in their raw form, which I know is really good for you. I'm off of work for the next couple of days if you would like me to come and visit you...offer any advice that might be helpful. We love you...Wend and Jean
Thinking of you and praying for you Tristan.

Hey Tristan- Mrs. Mattsen let me know what was happening in your life right now. Hope you are feeling better after chemo. Hang in there. Your pictures with Laperriere and Stastny are really cool. Laperriere is my favorite Avalanche player. Hope you get to play hockey again real soon.

Tristan - you are an absolute stud. And think how chemo now is going to help when you get to college later. Chemo is basically poisoning yourself. Most guys don't do this until they hit college and drink massive amounts of beer. By then, that will be child's play for you. Don't waste this incredible advantage - go to a party school, like CU. You may even be able to get a scholarship for it!
Hang in there. I know it must suck right now, but it will get better.
